The Grenfell Tower Memorial Commission has announced the appointment of Freehaus, a London- and Oxfordshire-based design firm, to lead the creation of a permanent memorial for the 72 people who died in the Grenfell Tower fire.

The final memorial design is expected to be unveiled in mid-2027, following extensive community consultation.

This appointment marks a significant step forward in the journey to establish a “bold, fitting and lasting” tribute to the lives lost, and to help heal a community forever changed by June 2017.
