There were no terror-related or major civil emergencies during 2022 that resulted in significant loss of life or large numbers of people hospitalised and so LET was essentially a near dormant charity. This was very good news but it does not mean the charity dropped its guard.
Writing in the charity’s annual report Gerald Oppenheim, chair of trustees, says that it “remains vigilant and ready to assist if there are more terror attacks or civil emergencies in London where we would be directly involved or elsewhere in the UK (or indeed further afield).”
LET has also formalised its relationship with the National Emergencies Trust (NET) through a memorandum of understanding to manage relationships and future activities should the two organisations need to work together on any future partnership.
