Commenting on the forthcoming anniversary of the 7/7 terrorist bomb attacks on

London, Gerald Oppenheim, chair of the London Emergencies Trust, says:

“In July twenty years ago, London was  shaken by four terrorist bombs on the public transport system which injured many and took the lives of 52 people. We know that this anniversary will be painful and very emotional for many of those who were caught up in the attacks and their families and friends who are still living with the consequences of  those terrible  events. The period leading up to the 20th anniversary will be a difficult time for them.

“We hope they will find comfort in the fact that we, along with many Londoners and others across the country and the world stand with them at this time as they remember 7/7 and either those loved ones they have lost or the injury and trauma they continue to live with today.”
