The inaugural National Day for Victims and Survivors of Terrorism takes place today, Friday 21 August 2026, following campaigning from victims, survivors, and bereaved families for better recognition and greater awareness of the impacts of terrorism.
The day will focus on remembering and recognising those impacted by terrorism, encouraging victims and survivors to access specialist support, educating the public, and amplifying victims’ and survivors’ stories.
Victims, survivors, bereaved families, and all members of the public are encouraged to observe the National Day in a way that is meaningful to them.
